Should you try the ketogenic diet now or wait for more research?

People want evidence-based treatments for their psychiatric disorders. Unfortunately, the evidence-based treatments fail to work for far too many people. “Off label” treatments are used routinely in psychiatry, and frequently include anti-convulsant medications. Given that the ketogenic diet is an evidence-based treatment for epilepsy, it’s not unreasonable to consider using it for a treatment resistant mental disorder.
